Interesting update, there are some new possibilities to try out. Pets are more fun now in PvE. Now I have to decide on what kind of petpack I will use for me and my heroes

A good update would consist of balancing skills that need to be addressed, not using power creep to ignore them. Sure, it pleases the people who need PvE to be easier, but as far as quality goes, this is quite low on the scale.

So did I. But hey, ANet can take any useful skill, make it worse, but as long as there are bigger numbers, people will be happy.

Explain how you possibly think that is now a good skill.

Masochism: functionality changed to: "For 10..40 seconds, you have +2 to your Death Magic and Soul Reaping attributes and sacrifice 5..3% of your maximum Health when you cast a spell."
|
Guess I'll just swap all my necromancer heroes to Discord or Minions since apparently that's all PvE necromancers are supposed to do.
Quote:
Finale of Restoration: increased recharge to 20 seconds. Functionality changed to: "For 10..35 seconds, the next 5 times that a chant or shout ends on target non-spirit ally, that ally is healed for 15..75 Health."
|
Glad to see something finally done with it but I still find it funny that the Command line received a huge overhaul last update and all Motivation gets this time around is a nerf.
Quote:
* Shroud of Distress: functionality changed to: "For 30..60 seconds, if you are below 50% Health, you have +3..8 Health regeneration and a 75% chance to block attacks.
* Signet of Deadly Corruption: no longer follows a dual attack.
* Unseen Fury: increased recharge to 20 seconds. Functionality changed to: "All adjacent foes are Blinded for 3..10 seconds. For 10..30 seconds, you cannot be blocked by Blinded foes."
|
No one will use Shroud of Distress because its counterproductive to Shadowform's health loss which is necessary for "By Ural's Hammer!" to work.
No one will use Signet of Deadly Corruption because Shadowform assassins use Sliver Armor to deal damage.
No one will use Unseen Fury because why you'd bother wasting a skill slot blinding enemies that can't hit you through Shadowform anyway is beyond me.

I still question why people are saying I'm trolling though. Maybe wars just look good on paper and I haven't compared with other professions, but they look real good to me and they do a lot for the team as well as have many, many toys accessible to them.
Want KD? Pop in Earth shaker.
Want aoe? Pop in Hundred blades+Whirlwind attack+Mark of Pain
Want big dommage? Pop in WE Scythe
Want daze spam? Pop the infamous stunning strike SY spammer.
Want god mode? Pop Dragon slash SY spam
Also, last I checked, didn't people qq that wars outclass a dervish? Now people are saying dervish outdamages a warrior?

People say you're trolling because you say warriors are the most overpowered class in the game, which is probably one of the stupidest things I've heard in awhile. If you honestly think that warriors are the most overpowered class in the game, then you clearly do not have a clue about balance of any sort.

Well I'm not up to date on what some of the skill balance issues are, so I can't really comment on that. The bug fixes were nice, mainly the fix for SoS as well as the buff to pets.
TBH I wasn't really expecting an update today, and when I saw this thread, I imagined the only thing included was the tonic swap. Still looking forward to the content update.

A+ on the test for common sense. Graz Anet and thanks!

The Ele and Sin updates cracked me up. Basically "We are trying to make Sins and Aeros better at AoE"? *laughing spasm* That is not their job... yeah, sins aren't as good at PvE as at PvP, but they have their uses - either blow through the game like a lazy person with a perma or use them to spike down the monks, bam! done. And Air is for spiking... you want AoE, go fire (or Water or Earth if you are fighting Titans/Destroyers). Why eliminate the niches of the different elements?

I wouldn't think people would take that post so seriously and literal.
Doesn't everyone have their own favorite class they think is insanely overpowered?
Oh, right. GWG101. GW iz srsbsnss.

Not a bad update, but I won't call it good either considering the results of past dartboard buffs. Chain and Invoke Lightning in particular strike me as problematic (2005, anyone?). RoJ monks are now just as viable as before with Earthen Shackles. Selfless Spirit and pet buffs are just lol - but then, it's PvE.
As I see it, there are really only two good things in this update:
1. Melshot nerf - hopefully rangers will start using a number of different elites again.
2. The assassin buffs in PvE may be a preface to nerfing Shadow Form, by giving assassins other options.
Still no change to Mind Blast... oh well, I'll continue to abuse it then.

Golden Phoenix Strike: functionality changed to: "If you are not under the effects of an Enchantment, this skill misses. If it hits, Golden Phoenix Strike deals +10..30 damage and all adjacent foes take 10..30 damage."
Masochism: functionality changed to: "For 10..40 seconds, you have +2 to your Death Magic and Soul Reaping attributes and sacrifice 5..3% of your maximum Health when you cast a spell."
Pets in PvE take 33% less damage and deal 33% more damage in combat.
Comfort Animal: decreased Energy cost to 5. Functionality changed to: "You heal your animal companion for 20..104 Health. If your companion is dead, it is resurrected with 10..58% Health. If you have Comfort Animal equipped, your animal companion will travel with you."
Divine Boon: decreased Energy loss to 1; now only provides healing when you cast Protection Prayers or Divine Prayers spells.
Shielding Hands: functionality changed to: "For 8 seconds, damage received by target ally is reduced by 3..18. When Shielding Hands ends, that ally is healed for 5..50 Health."
|
Awesome. It almost makes me want to play. No warrior updates; I am disapointed.
